A British Horse Society approved training centre just a few yards up the road. Ride straight out onto the moor.

There are a number of National Trust places to enjoy, including: 

Medieval House with a superb collection of textiles, armour and furniture. It also has a restored working watermill and agricultural workshops.
A superb 18th centuary mansion set in parkland and fine gardens.
A magnificent late Victorian country house with gardens.
For a beautiful, scenic walk.

Other popular places to visit:

World famous and one of the most popular sites in the southwest.
Vast caverns produced as a result of mining, complete with subteranean lake. They also present concerts and other events.
 
The legendary coaching house immortalised by Daphne du Murier.
A family leisure and animal centre based in a lakeside setting - good for bird watchers in the nearby marshlands.
A leisure park for the whole family, including bowling and an attached 18 hole golf club.
Live theatre in an outdoor setting.
